Well TPMCafe is up and running and I feel like I’ll be entertained and informed for the next decade without interruption. Josh did a great job designing the site and has brought some real talent on board with him.
My reactions to the site after Day 1 are threefold. First, it looks like TPMCafe will be passionate but driven by reason. This comes, perhaps, in contrast to Kos, which can be passionate driven by passion (which isn’t to say lacking in reason, just militant). Second, the diversity and gravitas of the contributors makes me think that Cafe will be addressing some less commonly addressed issues and bringing some real weighty analysis to the commentary. A good example of how this seems to be working is the weekly guest blogger. Senator Edwards, this week’s guest, has already put up two great posts on poverty and the lack of protection financial for the well-being of the poorest Americans. Third, and this is really the point, is the TPMCafe already has robust reader comments. I’ve posted a couple times and I’m guessing there are a few hundred people who have contributed more than once.
So congratulations Josh. I look forward to having another great resource for The Baltimore Group to look to for advice and material!
